GREENSBORO, NC (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference issued public reprimands of Florida State head football coach Jimbo Fisher and Pitt head football coach Pat Narduzzi for violating the ACC Sportsmanship Policy following Florida State’s game against Clemson on October 29, and Pitt’s game against Virginia Tech on October 27, respectively. In addition, the league announced that institutional fines have been issued to Florida State ($20,000) and Pitt ($5,000) as a result of the violations. The funds received from the two imposed institutional fines will be placed into the Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship account.

Fisher and Narduzzi’s postgame comments regarding officials were in direct violation of the ACC Sportsmanship Policy that states: “Public criticism of officials or public comments evaluating the officiating of particular contests is not in the best interest of intercollegiate athletics. Individuals associated with the athletics program are prohibited, therefore, from commenting while acting in an official capacity on officiating other than directly to the Conference office.”

The ACC considers this matter closed and will have no further comment.
