The Demon Deacons return to Winston-Salem for a midweek game against UNCG on Wednesday evening.

The Matchup
• Wake Forest returns home for 10 of the next 12 games including four straight, beginning with a 4 p.m.game against UNCG on Wednesday on ACC Network Extra.

Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons dropped two out of three games to Santa Clara, but salvaged the series finale with a 3-1 victory on Sunday.
Colin Peluse tossed 8.0 shutout innings on Sunday to earn the win and improve to 2-0, allowing just three hits and two walks.
Jake Mueller has built up a six-game hitting streak, including his first three-hit effort of the season on Sunday.

Wake Forest Storylines
• The Demon Deacons have already started six different freshmen position players, while four rookies have seen time on the mound.
• The bullpen has been a strong point so far for the Demon Deacons. In 33.2 innings, the Wake Forest bullpen has a 2.14 ERA to go along with 43 strikeouts.
• Wake Forest is led by consensus preseason All-American Johnny Aiello and returning draftee Griffin Roberts, both juniors. Aiello blasted 20 homers - fourth-most in program history - while Roberts had a 2.19 ERA, eight saves and broke the program record in strikeouts per nine innings as the closer last year.
• The Deacs are coming off their second Super Regional appearance, finishing a game away from the College World Series. Wake Forest finished the year with a 43-20 record and set program records in ACC wins (19), ACC series wins (eight), All-ACC honorees (nine), MLB Draft picks (eight) and home runs (106).

Opponent And Series History
• UNCG enters the game with a 4-3 record, winning a series against App State and most recently falling in two of three games at Tennessee.
• The Spartans won the SoCon Tournament last year and played in the Clemson Regional, finishing the year 36-24.
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series, 39-14. Last year, the Deacs won 15-8 after recording 18 hits, including a 5-for-5 effort from current Nationals prospect Jonathan Pryor, who also tallied a homer, double and five RBIs.

• Wake Forest welcomes UMass Lowell to David F. Couch Ballpark for a three-game series this weekend.
