WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest sophomore Jared Shuster has been selected as the ACC Pitcher of the Week, as well as a National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball.

Shuster got off to a dominant start to the 2019 season. Against Georgetown on Sunday, allowed just one run on two hits and a walk over 6.0 innings to earn his first collegiate victory.

Entering the game with a career high of four strikeouts, Shuster nearly tripled that total as he punched out 11 Hoyas. His 11 strikeouts were the most in the ACC over the weekend.

Georgetown's only two hits against Shuster came in the second inning, a pair of doubles which brought home a run. He kept the Hoyas hitless over the other five innings.

Clemson's Davis Sharpe was named the ACC's Player of the Week. Shuster was one of 10 honored by Collegiate Baseball, including the only selection from the ACC.
