WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest scored in six of its eight turns at bat to clinch the series over UMass Lowell with a 14-7 win over UMass Lowell at David F. Couch Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.
The Demon Deacons (5-7) scored in each of the first five innings and added four more runs in the eighth, recording season-highs in runs and hits (14) to defeat the River Hawks (3-7).
Patrick Frick led the way for Wake Forest, going 4-for-4 with a walk, hit by pitch and three RBIs. With walks in his last four plate appearances in Saturday, he has now reached base in 10 consecutive trips to the plate.
DJ Poteet, Bobby Seymour, Shane Muntz and Christian Long also added two hits apiece, while Johnny Aiellohomered, hit a sac fly and was hit by a pitch. Long also reached base all five times he came to the plate, totaling two hits, two RBIs and three walks.
