WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – After an 18-7 start to the season, the Wake Forest baseball team has entered several national polls for the first time since 2012.

The Demon Deacons, who are coming off three-straight ACC series wins, jumped into the No. 24 slot in the Baseball America top 25.

Wake Forest also slotted into the NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper polls, each of which recognize a top 30.

The Deacs were tabbed at No. 28 by Collegiate Baseball and No. 29 by the NCBWA.

In the USA Today Coaches Poll, Wake Forest received the second-most votes outside the top 25. The Deacs were also mentioned as "on the cusp" of the top 25 by D1Baseball and listed as "also considered" by Perfect Game.

The Deacs previously were ranked 24th by Collegiate Baseball and 36th by Perfect Game in March 2012.

Wake Forest is back in action on Tuesday, traveling to Appalachian State for a 5 p.m. game.
