Things are starting to get more focused as Wake continues to build an impressive 2021 class.
Wake is up to #43 in the RIvals.com Team Rankings despite having a kicker in the class early who usually hurt rankings under 20 signees.
Jaydon Collins commitment came at a good time as another OL target Jakiah Leftwich announced he will make his call on Wednesday and it will not be the Deacs. With three OL commits, Wake is in very good shape once again on the offensive line recruiting front. This is maybe the biggest stride I've seen over the last couple of classes for Wake as they rebuild that offensive line with good pieces.
Linebacker target Caden Fordham was all set to announce this week, but he backed off that decision. Wake was in his top 3, but it was really more of a top 5. That backing off led to some speculation that someone turned down his commitment. It was not Wake Forest though.
Jacksonville CB Robert Simmons released his top 10 and Wake Forest was not on it. The Deacs had stopped recruiting the mercurial defender.
Wake is also out of the mix for Georgia CB Javon Bullard who recently got offered by in-state power UGA.
Pittsburgh based WR David Pantelis says he is hearing a lot from Wake Forest, his stock is rising. The Deacs offered him a while back.
WR target Jordyn Williams from Georgia committed to Indiana over the weekend.
LB Isi Etute (Virginia Beach, VA) eliminated Wake Forest as he released a top 7 of Boston College, Appalachian State, Marshall, West Virginia, Temple, Old Dominion, Vanderbilt
RB Will Towns (Jackson, NJ) said Wake Forest is one of the three visits he plans to make before making his decision.
