Just a few notes to get everyone up to date:
- Expect the 2017 class to fill up quick. If you recall, the Deacs were finished early last year, then held on for dear life as others tried to pick off their top guys in the final weeks. We could be headed toward that same synergy this season, but will lower numbers to start.
- Attrition, for the most part, is a thing of the past. The overwhelming majority of those on campus now are coach Clawson commits, and because there will be little to no expected attrition, the 2017 class will be small - expect a final number to be between 12 and 15, most likely.
- Maryland offensive 2017 offensive lineman Christian Darrisaw impressed Wake coaches at camp last week. He doesn't yet have an offer from the Deacs, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that change soon.
- Wake made Michael Allen's final eight list, and I'm hearing the Deacs are believing they may have a potential defensive line commit in the coming days. Are those two things related? Probably not, as I'm sure the process with Allen will be more involved.
- I have been out of town some last week with a family issue, and I'll probably be gone a couple days this coming week as well. (sorry) I am heading to Davidson Day football practice tonight, where I'll be talking to new 2018 QB commit Sam Hartman and LB target Chase Monroe (as well as coach Grier). So look for a couple stories out of this visit the next 2-3 days.
