2021 marks the 30th year of the storied recognition of the AFCA Good Works Team.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest football redshirt junior defensive back Tyriq Hardimon was named as a nominee for the AFCA Good Works Team, as announced by the organization on Wednesday morning.
During his time in Winston-Salem, Hardimon has played a key role in the defensive backfield and on special teams. Over the last three bowl appearance seasons, he has played in 22 games for the Demon Deacons, including six a season ago.
Facing No. 1 Clemson in the opening week of the 2020 season, Hardimon recorded a season-high four tackles and a pass breakup. The Marietta, Ga. native also contributed two solo tackles and pass breakup in the victory over Campbell.
He has been equally impactful for the Wake Forest campus and Winston-Salem community off the field. He is a member of SAAC and an active member of the Outreach Committee.
Additionally, he participated in all career readiness opportunities, getting noticed by employers at career night and getting two summer internships while going to class and workouts. Haridmon also took a lead role in our Student-Athlete forum on processing racial injustice.
During the pandemic, Hardimon has also helped distribute COVID care packets to members of the Wake Forest and Winston-Salem communities.
He hopes to get his masters in sustainability at Wake Forest with a long-term goal of being a versatile businessman, who knows the economy and how to make it more sustainable.
