DEACS VISIT NORTH CAROLINA IN ACC OPENER
• Wake Forest opens ACC play by visiting No. 13 North Carolina
• The Deacs are opening conference play on the road for the fourth straight season
• It is the third straight season Wake Forest has played a ranked team on the road to open ACC play (at No. 18 Louisville in 2015-16 and at No. 20 Florida State in 2016-17)

SERIES HISTORY
• North Carolina leads 159-66 (74-19 in Chapel Hill, 21-5 in the Smith Center)
• In last year’s only meeting, the Tar Heels downed the Deacs 93-87 in Winston-Salem as Wake Forest rallied from down 19 points in the second half to get within one point midway through the second half
• The Deacs are looking for their first win in the series since a 73-67 victory in Winston-Salem in 2013-14 and their first win in Chapel Hill since 2009-10

AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
• Today’s game is Wake Forest’s second consecutive against a ranked opponent (lost 79-60 to No. 21 Tennessee on Dec. 23)
• Last year the Deacs were 1-7 against ranked opponents (def. No. 8 Louisville on March 1)

ACC OPENERS
• The Demon Deacons have won their ACC opener in five of the last 10 years, but haven’t won a conference opener on the road since 2006-07 (won at Miami)
• The last time the Deacs beat a ranked opponent in an ACC opener was in 2013-14, a 73-67 home win over No. 19 North Carolina
• The last time the Deacs opened the ACC season in Chapel Hill was in 2003-04, when freshman guard Chris Paul led Wake Forest to a 119-114 triple-overtime victory
