WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning will participate in the 2018 Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge. The challenge, which begins January 2, features 48 coaches from around the country competing to raise money for a charity of their choice.
Manning is raising money for the Special Olympics of Forsyth County with his participation in this year’s event. The Forsyth County branch of the Special Olympics provides year-round sports opportunities to over 1,500 children and adults with intellectual disabilities completely free of charge.
Infiniti will donate at least $1,000 to each of the coaches’ charities, with the charity of the winning coach receiving $100,000.
Fans can vote for their favorite coach at ESPN.com/Infiniti or on Twitter and Instagram. For a vote to be counted on Twitter or Instagram, the voter must include #Timeout2Vote and #CoachDannyManning in the text copy.
The first round runs from January 2-21, when the top 24 coaches advance to the second round. The second round runs January 22 to February 11, when the field is cut to 16 coaches. The third round runs from February 12-25, when the final four coaches advance to the final round. The winner is the top vote-getter from February 26 to March 10, and will be announced March 11.
Infiniti will donate $1,000 to the charities of coaches eliminated in the first round, $7,500 to the charities of coaches eliminated in the second round, $10,000 to the charities of coaches eliminated in the third round and $15,000 to the charities of coaches eliminated in the final round.
