Award recognizes a coach who achieves success on the court and shows moral integrity off of it

PHOENIX, Ariz. –
Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning is the 2017 recipient of the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award, CollegeInsider.com announced this week. The award, named after former Demon Deacon head coach Skip Prosser, annually honors a coach who achieves success on the basketball court and displays moral integrity off the court.
In 2016-17, Manning led the Demon Deacons to a 19-14 record and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010. The team featured a high-scoring offense that set school records for three-pointers in a season (268) and free throw percentage (77.8) and was ranked in the top 10 nationally in offensive efficiency.
“Coach Manning has done a terrific job of bringing Wake Forest basketball back into the conversation in the ACC,” said CollegeInsider.com’s Angela Lento. “He’s an excellent coach and great person.”
The award was established by CollegeInsider.com in 2008 to honor Prosser, who passed away the previous year.
