I exchanged some texts with 2017 Notre Dame Prep forward Melo Eggleston tonight and he explained why there hasn't been any news about him recently. Eggleston told me that about two months ago, during his team's third game, he broke his ankle. Originally he did not know it was broken and he attempted to play the next two games then had to shut it down.
Eggleston went on to say that he's back now and that they have a game Saturday.
I've seen Eggleston play a few times and I know that he’s a gym rat,so this injury had to be frustrating for him in his final season before heading off to college.
At the next level I think he'll be most effective from 15-feet in as a freshman. He can score on the block, but he'll need to add some weight to be able to do that with some consistency in the ACC. He can handle the ball like a guard, I watched some AAU games where they had him playing point guard because of his ball
He can guard multiple positions, definitely both forward positions and possible a SG once he adjusts to the speed of the game.
