Greetings!

The MLB Draft starts Sunday night and I figured this was a good time to check in with Tom Walter about who he expects to be picked and which commits he's worried about losing.

First, some background: The draft is 20 rounds. Sunday night is the first 2 rounds, 80 picks total, broadcast on MLB Network starting at 7 p.m. Rounds 3-10 are Monday starting at 2, and then 11-20 are Tuesday at 2.

Walter said the following for current players:

Expecting Eric Adler and Brendan Tinsman to be drafted. Michael Turconi will likely be drafted. Pierce Bennett and Adam Cecere are possible picks -- probably 50-50 or less likely to be picked. Brennen Oxford is a candidate to sign as an undrafted FA after the draft. Adler and Oxford both entered the transfer portal, so even if they wind up undrafted and unsigned, they still might not be coming back to WF.

As far commits:

Gary Gill Hill is the one he's most-concerned about.
Isaiah Lowe is the "mild concern" commit.
Marek Houston is "low concern."

Hudson Lee was high concern but just had Tommy John surgery -- the double-edged sword there is that he'll come to WF, but he won't be available next season.

And one non-draft note: Walter's son, Chase Walter, will join the team as a grad transfer from Georgetown. He's a reliever and didn't pitch for Georgetown this past season, coming off of an injury that'll mean he's probably going to be out until late in the fall.
