The Demon Deacons won the completion of Friday's game, 4-3, before falling in the nightcap, 4-0.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- No. 16 Wake Forest split the first two games of the series against No. 25 Florida State at Dick Howser Stadium on Saturday.

Wake Forest won the opener, with play resumed from Friday night, 4-3, before dropping the nightcap, 4-0.

Ben Breazeale led the way offensively for the Demon Deacons (34-16, 16-10 ACC), going 3-for-6 over the two games.

Tyler Holton tossed a complete-game shutout for the Seminoles (33-19, 12-13 ACC) in game two.

The rubber game of the series is set for Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.

Game 1: Wake Forest 4, Florida State 3

After jumping out to a 4-2 lead Friday behind homers from Gavin Sheets and Stuart Fairchild and an RBI double by Bruce Steel, the Demon Deacons held on for the 4-3 win Saturday.

Parker Dunshee struck out six over 4.0 innings on just three hits Friday, but received a no decision due to the game suspension. Colin Peluse was solid in relief, allowing a run on one hit over 3.0 innings to earn the win and improve to 3-1.

Griffin Roberts picked up his sixth save with 2.0 shutout frames. A walk and bloop single in the ninth put the potential game-winning run on base before Roberts forced a 1-4-3 double play to end the game.

Jonathan Pryor extended his hitting streak to a career-long 16 games before it was snapped in the second game.

Game 2: Florida State 4, Wake Forest 0

The Demon Deacons didn't have an answer for FSU starter Tyler Holton, who made four first-inning runs stand in his complete-game shutout.

He allowed four hits and no walks, striking out nine Deacons on 124 pitches.

Wake Forest starter Donnie Sellers walked the first two batters, then allowed back-to-back doubles and two more singles as the Seminoles plated four runs in the opening frame.

Sellers then settled down, allowing just one more hit over the next five innings and striking out four.

Morgan McSweeney struck out two in 2.0 shutout innings out of the pen, allowing just one hit.

Quincy Nieporte provided the big blow for the Seminole offense in the first with a two-run double.

Jake Mueller had two of Wake Forest's four hits.
