The College Baseball Foundation selected Griffin Roberts and Colin Peluse to the watch list for the top pitcher in college baseball.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Wake Forest starting pitchers Griffin Roberts and Colin Peluse have been named to the Pitcher of the Year Award watch list by the College Baseball Foundation on Thursday night.
Seventy-seven total players are on the watch list, including eight from the ACC. The full list is available by clicking HERE.
Wake Forest and NC State are the only programs in the ACC with more than one honoree.
The award, sponsored by Diamond, will be presented later this summer by the CBF.
Roberts leads the ACC in strikeouts with 90, a mark which ranks second in the nation. He has a 4-3 record and 2.67 ERA in nine starts, and opponents are hitting just .193 against him in 64.0 innings.
Peluse is tied for the ACC lead in wins with an unblemished 6-0 record to go along with a 2.88 ERA. In 59.1 innings he has 43 strikeouts and 16 walks, and foes are hitting just .212 with one homer against him.
Wake Forest is in action tonight with the series-opener against No. 14 Clemson at 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
