GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest’s Gavin Sheets has been voted the ACC Baseball Player of the Week, while Florida State’s Tyler Holton and North Carolina’s Luca Dalatri were selected as Co-Pitchers of the Week.
ACC weekly honors are determined by a vote of a select media panel. This is the first career ACC weekly award for all three players.
Sheets had a monster week at the plate for the Demon Deacons, tallying 16 RBIs, 10 hits, three home runs, two doubles, three walks, and nine runs scored to lead Wake Forest to a midweek win over UNC Greensboro and a series victory over USC. The junior from Baltimore, Maryland, tied program records with three home runs and nine RBIs in the series-opening win over USC on Friday. Sheets hit .588 on the week, and posted a slugging percentage of 1.235 and an on-base percentage of .619.
