Three Wake Forest players earn ACC Player of the Week honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Three Wake Forest football players earned ACC Player of the Week honors for their efforts in the Demon Deacons’ 56-35 win at Louisville on Saturday, October 27. Matt Colburn II was named the ACC Running Back of the Week, Carlos Basham, Jr. was the Defensive Lineman of the Week and Cameron Glenn was the Defensive Back of the Week.



Colburn, a 5-10, 200-pound senior from Irmo, S.C. (Dutch Fork), rushed for a career-high 243 yards on Saturday, Oct. 27. Colburn carried 20 times for a 12.3 yards per carry average and scored a career-best three touchdowns. He scored on runs of 74 and 56 yards as well as on a 12-yard carry. The game marked Colburn’s eighth career 100-yard rushing game and is the highest rushing total by an ACC rusher this season.



Basham, a 6-5, 270-pound redshirt sophomore defensive end from Roanoke, Va. (Northside), had four total tackles, two tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery and 23-yard touchdown return at Louisville.



Glenn, a 6-1, 205-pound redshirt senior from Stone Mountain, Ga. (Stephenson), tied for the team lead with 13 tackles against Louisville including nine solos and four assists. Glenn also forced a fumble against the Cardinals that led to Basham’s recovery and 23-yard touchdown run.
