Athletics announced the tentative schedules for all its fall olympic sports programs.

ACC’s Medical Advisory Report

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest Athletics staff, in accordance with the ACC Medical Advisory Group Health & Safety Protocols/Standards, has unveiled its schedules for all fall olympic sports.

The announcement follows several months of discussion and scenario planning by the Deacs head coaches, Athletics administration and ACC league leadership.

“The formation of these schedules is extremely exciting as we are just days away from our student-athletes having the opportunity to compete this fall,” Director of Athletics John Currie said. “I am extremely proud of the leadership of our head coaches and sport administrators throughout this process. We remain fully supportive and compliant with the ACC-standard COVID-19 health and safety protocols.”

Based on the guidance received from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Wake Forest does not anticipate being able to host fans at any of its events during the month of September.

VOLLEYBALL

Randi Smart:

  • “The players, staff, and the entire Wake Forest Athletic department have been working nonstop on controlling what we can control, with the purpose of having matches to play this fall. When the ACC announced our schedule, there was a very deep exhale taken by the players and our staff. We are extremely excited to compete, but cautious because we know there could still be some changes in the future. I know there were a lot of smiles under their masks, and it was great to see that excitement in their eyes. It's been a roller coaster of emotions, but we are really looking forward to competing. The ACC has a great group of coaches and administrators. We are very appreciative of the time and work that has gone into the scheduling and planning for 14 different schools across multiple sports. It's not an easy task but we are so grateful to have the opportunity to play and can't wait to get out there and compete safely."
