WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest remains the top-ranked team in the ACC in the March 21 release of the Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup standings.
The Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup awards points based on each institution’s finish in NCAA Championships.
Wake Forest leads the ACC with 345.5 points on the season. After collecting a school record 311 points during the fall season, the Demon Deacons added 34.5 points with a 39th place finish nationally in men’s indoor track. Robert Heppenstall finished third in the 800 meters at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The March 21 Directors’ Cup update takes into account the fall point totals as well as the point totals from the recently completed winter sports of rifle, skiing, and indoor track.
The Demon Deacons are currently ranked 12th in the nation. Stanford holds the top spot in the nation with 682.25 total points, followed by Wisconsin and BYU. In the ACC, coming in right behind Wake Forest are Notre Dame with 332 points, Virginia with 329 and Florida State with 325.25.
