WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest fell to area rival Elon, 10-9, at David F. Couch Ballpark on Tuesday night.

Johnny Aiello, Bobby Seymour and DJ Poteet had two hits apiece to lead the Demon Deacons (11-14).

Elon broke a 7-7 tie in the seventh with a bases loaded hit-by-pitch and two-run single by Cam Devanney.

The Deacs scored twice in the eighth on a wild pitch and Jake Mueller RBI groundout. In the ninth, Michael Ludowig and Zach Seal drew walks to put the potential winning run aboard, but a strikeout and popout ended the game.

Wake Forest returns to ACC play this weekend with a three-game series at North Carolina from Friday-Sunday.
