INDIANAPOLIS – No. 12-ranked Wake Forest was selected by the NCAA Division I Baseball Selection Committee as one of 16 regional hosts on Sunday night. Play is expected begin at David F. Couch Ballpark on Friday.
The field of 64 teams and regional pairings for the 2017 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, including the three teams that will join the Demon Deacons at the Winston-Salem Regional from June 2-5, will be announced live on ESPN2 on Monday at noon ET.
"We couldn't be more excited to be hosting a regional in Winston-Salem," head coach Tom Walter said. "This is another big step forward for our program, which shows the commitment our student-athletes have made on and off the field. We can't wait to play in front of our great fans for at least one more weekend."
Wake Forest currently sits at 39-18 overall after going 19-11 in ACC play and 1-1 at the ACC Baseball Championship. The Demon Deacons have set program record in ACC wins (19), ACC series wins (eight), home runs (96) and strikeouts (498).
The Deacs get at least one more weekend at David F. Couch Ballpark, where they hold a 21-7 record this season. Wake Forest won all six series played in Winston-Salem this year.
All-session tickets are on sale for $78, while single-session tickets will go on sale for $15 following the announcement of the field of 64 tomorrow afternoon. All tickets are general admission.
