McKenna Frank joins the Deacs after eclipsing 1,000 career points in high school
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest women's basketball coach Jen Hoover announced Tuesday (Aug. 7) the addition of guard McKenna Frank to the Demon Deacon roster. Frank, a native of Stamford, Conn., joins the Deacs as a walk-on following a standout prep career.
"We are excited to add McKenna to our women's basketball family and this community," said Hoover. "She is passionate about becoming a Demon Deacon and values both academics and basketball. Her high character, work ethic and selflessness will be an asset to all of us."
A five-foot-nine guard, Frank was a three-year member and two-time captain of St. Luke's School. Following her senior year, Frank was named to the USA Today All-USA Connecticut Second Team and was tabbed as a First Team All-NEPSAC selection. All three years with the Storm, Frank was named an All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council All-Star and was also selected to the All-Fairchester Athletic Association First Team.
Just one-of-six players in school history to score over 1,000 career points, Frank's teams went 71-9 during her career and captured three consecutive FAA titles. As a senior, Frank averaged 16.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and scored in double figures in 24 of her 29 games.
Frank was also a member of the Stamford Peace and Hudson Valley Elite AAU teams and helped claim the 2017 GymRat Championship with Hudson Valley Elite.
The Demon Deacons opened practice on July 31 in preparation of their international trip to Italy beginning Saturday.
