Dave Clawson said that 126 of 129 players will be vaccinated by the time camp opens in August.

Jaquarii Roberson said he has been focused on getting other WRs ready and is not making it about him despite all the preseason love he is getting from the media. He said he has seen a lot from AT Perry, Donald Stewart and Jahmal Banks and expects them to step up to help fill the void by Donavon Greene's injury.

Clawson said they did a disservice to Luke Masterson keeping him at DB in the past due to injuries, they've know he should be a LB and focused there for a while. Masterson said however playing DB has really helped him with his understanding of the game.

Hartman said he has a bad taste in his mouth with the way the 2020 season ended for him and the team, has been a motivating factor in the offseason.

Clawson joked that Christian Beal-Smith growing up a Wake fan made him the only player they've signed who they could've beat Alabama and Clemson on in recruiting. Said he had 15 years of Wake posters in his room when he went for the in-home with coach Hunter to see Beal-Smith.

Clawson said that Dabo Swinney is the only coach in the Atlantic that wants to stick with divisional play. He said everyone else wants a rotation where you see more teams.

Clawson declined to talk about the OU/Texas to the SEC rumors, he said that is above his paygrade.

Clawson said that other than Kenneth Walker leaving every one else who transferred out was not going to play much or was unhappy or both and that is why they opted to hit the transfer portal. He said he was pleased with how many kids opted to stay. He thought the portal would be a major problem at WF.

Clawson said they are still seeking scholarship cap relief for the 2022 recruiting class, but the NCAA refuses to discuss it whatsoever. He said they just dumped all these extra scholarship players without giving more cap room. He also said the 85 scholarship cap is outdated.

Clawson said 9 of the 12 players that could return for a super senior year decided to.

Clawson got asked about Jamie Newman's decision to leave and how he is not on a NFL roster now. He said that Jamie and his family did what they thought was best for him at the time when he left. He has no hard feelings and is proud of Jamie for getting his WF degree and what he did as a Deac.

Clawson said that developing QB depth is something that is important given the unknowns of that position and how many times they've had to turn to a backup QB.

Masterson said it has been a lot of fun having his little brother on the team and he thought he would never have a chance to play together because of the age gap. Christian is a walk-on and five-plus years younger than Luke. They are two of 8 kids!

Roberson said he learned a lot from being around Kendall Hinton and how he handled himself and keeping it lowkey and not getting into your press. He tries to be that type of leader now.
