We have all talked a lot about our offensive line, maybe too much but I want to share some thoughts and hope to get some of your thoughts. I have watched a lot of football the past two weeks and paid attention to the O line of the really good teams. Clemson, Oklahoma etc. have 300 lb guys who can run. I saw the same play run by ND and Oklahoma where the right tackle pulled and blocked a linebacker on the left side. On both plays the back went down the left side for a big gain. I don't think we have a lineman who can do that, which dampens my optimism going forward.
My question. First there are very few 300 lb who can really run. I don't really know but I haven't seen evidence our guys can run. Now are we better off having 280lb +- who can run vs the 300lb guys who are slow. We have talked a lot about strength, but it seems our O lineman are defeated by being out quicked rather than out muscled. I would like to see some faster guys and see how that works.
