KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Recent graduate Aaron Spivey of the Wake Forest men’s basketball team was honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Wednesday (July 17), as the organization announced the 2018-19 Honors Court. It marks the fourth consecutive year that the Demon Deacons have had a player earn the honor.
Spivey, who earned a degree in economics, was honored for the second consecutive year.
To be named to the NABC Honors Court, a player must be a junior or senior academically, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point-average, have been enrolled at their current school for at least one year and have a coach who is a member of the NABC.
“We are proud of the hard work that Aaron has done in the classroom and are glad he is being recognized for it,” said head coach Danny Manning. “We enjoyed having him in our program over the last few years and are excited to see what he will accomplish in the future. He is a talented and hard-working young man who has a very bright future.”
Wake Forest was one of four ACC schools to have a selection to the 2018-19 Honors Court, joining Florida State, Louisville and Notre Dame. Earlier this month the Demon Deacons were earned a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for having a team GPA over 3.0 for the previous year.
