Bobby Seymour and Ryan Cusick were both invited to the inaugural MLB Draft Combine last month at the USA Baseball National Training Complex and Raleigh Convention Center.
For the first time ever, draft prospects had the opportunity to participate in on-field showcase workouts as well as strength and conditioning assessments in front of various MLB general managers, scouting directors and club personnel. In addition to on-field work, draft prospects met with front office staff and scouts, took part in medical testing and attended educational courses in preparation of the transition to professional baseball.
Seymour represented Wake Forest baseball during the first day or workouts as he hit and did defensive drills.
Although Cusick did not participate in any drills on the diamond, the right hander met with multiple Major League front offices and took part in the medical exams.
